House Rules

A few things that make Raht Juneo special for everyone. Simple expectations. Maximum freedom.

These aren’t rules to restrict you. They’re guidelines so everyone—you, other guests, our staff, and the estate itself—can thrive.

You have complete freedom here. Your time is yours. Your pace is yours. These guidelines just help us all coexist respectfully.

Respect & Guest Conduct

We welcome all guests. In return, we ask for basic respect for the property, staff, and other guests.

  • Treat staff with courtesy and appreciation
  • Respect other guests’ privacy and space
  • Be mindful of noise after 10 PM
  • Use common areas considerately
  • Leave your cottage clean for our team
  • If you damage something, let us know immediately

What this means: We’re a small community for the duration of your stay. Think of it like staying at a friend’s house. Be present, be respectful, be kind.

Smoking & Alcohol

Smoking: Permitted outdoors only. Never inside cottages or dining spaces. Use the designated outdoor areas.

Alcohol: Guests are welcome to bring wine or spirits. Enjoy responsibly. Excessive drinking or intoxicated behavior that affects others will result in a request to leave (no refund).

Philosophy: We’re not prohibitive. You’re adults. We just ask that you make choices that don’t disrupt the peace for others.

Pets & Dogs

Dogs are genuinely welcome at Raht Juneo. They’re guests like you. Help us keep that special.

  • Keep your dog on-leash when near other guests or staff
  • Free roam on the estate trails and open areas
  • Clean up after your dog (waste bags provided)
  • If your dog has behavioral issues, manage them actively
  • Notify us immediately if your dog injures someone or another dog
  • Don’t leave your dog unattended in the cottage for extended periods

Estate dogs: We have resident dogs on the property. We’ll introduce them to your dog safely. If your dog is aggressive toward other dogs, let us know at booking.

Please don’t feed our dogs.

Estate Care & Nature

The vineyard, orchard, and trails are alive. Help us keep them that way.

  • Stay on designated trails (off-trail walking damages vegetation)
  • Don’t pick grapes, fruit, or flowers without permission
  • Don’t pick vegetables from the kitchen garden
  • Respect the working vineyard—it’s not a tourist attraction, it’s a farm
  • No littering (carry out what you carry in)
  • Don’t feed animals (including birds)
  • Take photos freely, but be respectful of the space

Why this matters: The vineyard feeds us. The orchard sustains us. The trails heal us. Respecting them means they can do that for future guests too.

Dining & Kitchen Guidelines

  • Meals are served at specific times (we’ll confirm with you at check-in)
  • Notify us of dietary changes or allergies as soon as they arise
  • If you want to eat outside normal mealtimes, let us know 24 hours ahead
  • Your cottage kitchen is minimal (we handle all cooking—that’s the point)
  • If you want to cook something yourself, ask us first (we have restrictions for fire safety)
  • Clean up after yourself if you prepare anything

taraak is our pride. It’s not just food service—it’s part of the experience. Come with an open mind. Taste what we create. If something doesn’t work for you, let us know and we’ll adjust.

Trek Safety & Responsibilities

Trek to Giri River – Your Responsibilities

If you choose to trek:

  • Inform staff of your departure time & expected return
  • Take a physical map (provided at check-in)
  • Check weather forecast before trekking
  • Wear proper footwear (hiking boots/sturdy shoes)
  • Bring water (minimum 1.5L)
  • Bring phone fully charged
  • Stay on marked trails (don’t explore off-path)
  • Watch your footing on steep/slippery sections
  • Turn back if you’re tired or uncomfortable
  • Don’t cross river if water is high/dangerous
  • Report back to staff when you return

We are not liable for:

  • Injuries sustained during trekking
  • Loss or damage to belongings
  • Getting lost (maps provided, trail is marked)
  • Weather-related delays or cancellations You trek at your own risk.

Your responsibility is to:

  • Know your fitness level
  • Make safe decisions
  • Report emergencies immediately
  • Follow these guidelines

WiFi & Technology

We have excellent WiFi throughout the estate. Use it or don’t—that’s your choice.

  • WiFi is available 24/7 if you need it
  • Request “no WiFi” in your cottage if you want to disconnect
  • Don’t stream movies or download large files (bandwidth is shared)
  • Respect quiet hours (10 PM – 7 AM) with device volume
  • Charging stations available in all cottages

The point: Technology is a tool, not a requirement. Many guests come to escape it. If you need to work, work. If you want to disconnect, disconnect. It’s your stay.

Photography & Content Sharing

We love when guests capture moments at the estate.
Photography is encouraged—of landscapes, meals, your cottage, the vineyard. These are your memories.

If you’re willing to share: Content you create—photos, videos, stories—can be used by us for social media, website, marketing materials, and brochures. You don’t need explicit permission each time. By checking in, you grant us this right.

If you prefer privacy: Let us know at check-in. We’ll  avoid photographing you and won’t repost your content without asking first.

Tag us: If you post on social media, tag @rahtjuneoorchards.
We love sharing guest perspectives and giving credit where it’s due.

What this means: You create content. We amplify it. Your  experience becomes part of our story, and our story becomes  more authentic because it includes real guest moments.

Quiet Hours & Noise

The estate is peaceful. We ask you to help keep it that way.

  • Quiet hours: 10 PM – 7 AM (keep volume low)
  • Music, conversations, device volume should be minimal during quiet hours
  • Use headphones if watching videos late at night
  • If you’re hosting a celebration in your cottage, notify us (we can manage timing)

Not strict rules: Just mindful consideration. If you’re having a gathering, let us know so we can support you and ensure others aren’t disturbed.

Water & Resource Conservation

Water is precious at 1,300m elevation. We ask for consciousness.

  • Take shorter showers (we have excellent hot water—enjoy, but conserve)
  • Turn off taps while brushing teeth
  • Report any leaks immediately
  • Reuse towels—leave them on the rack if you’re using them again
  • Don’t waste food

It’s not guilt: It’s respect for the land. Conservation isn’t punishment—it’s care for where we are.

Staff & Interactions

Our team is here to support your stay. Treat them with the respect you’d offer a friend.

  • Speak to staff with courtesy and kindness
  • Respect their work boundaries and schedules
  • If you need something, ask—don’t demand
  • Gratuities are not expected or accepted (your rate covers everything)
  • If staff do something exceptional, a written note of appreciation means everything

Remember: Our team is part of what makes this place special. Treat them as partners in your experience, not service people.

Safety & Emergencies

  • Know the location of first aid supplies (ask at check-in)
  • Report any accidents or injuries immediately
  • Don’t venture into unfamiliar areas alone at night
  • Keep emergency numbers (yours and ours) accessible
  • Let us know if you have medical conditions we should be aware of
  • Use trails during daylight hours

We’re prepared: Medical facilities are 30-45 minutes away. We have first aid training and can arrange emergency transport. Stay safe, and let us know if you need anything.

What Happens If Rules Are Broken

We trust our guests. In rare cases where behavior violates house rules or affects others’ experience:

  • We’ll speak with you directly and calmly
  • We’ll give you opportunity to correct the behavior
  • If behavior persists or is serious, we reserve the right to ask you to leave
  • If asked to leave due to your actions, no refund will be provided

This rarely happens: Most guests come with good intentions. We’re just clear about consequences so everyone can enjoy their stay.

The Real Philosophy Behind These Rules

These rules exist to protect one thing: the experience. Not the building. Not the furniture. The experience of peace, solitude, presence, and connection that people come here to find.

When you respect the estate, the rules, and other guests, you protect that experience for everyone. You become part of what makes Raht Juneo special.

That’s all we ask.
