Booking & Availability
How far in advance should I book?
Recommended booking windows:
- Regular season: 4-8 weeks in advance
- Harvest season (late June to early July): 3-6 months in advance
- Peak season (summer): Book as early as possible
Earlier bookings ensure cottage choice and better availability. We accept bookings up to 12 months in advance.
What is the minimum stay requirement?
We recommend a minimum of 2 nights for weekends. This gives you time to settle in and experience the estate’s rhythm.
For transformative experiences, we suggest:
- 3-4 nights: Moderate immersion
- 5-7 nights: Deep engagement with the land
- 7+ nights: Extended residency (we offer priority consideration during peak seasons)
Do you offer single-night stays?
Single-night stays are not recommended as the estate reveals itself gradually. However, contact us directly if you have a specific circumstance—we may accommodate on a case-by-case basis.

What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation refund schedule:
- 30+ days before arrival: 90% refund
- 15-29 days before arrival: 50% refund
- 8-14 days before arrival: 25% refund
- Less than 7 days: No refund
Weather-related or emergency cancellations are considered individually. Contact us to discuss your specific situation.
Can I modify my booking dates?

Pricing & Payment
What is included in the price?
One all-inclusive price covers:
- Private cottage (2 bedrooms, 4 guests maximum)
- All meals—breakfast, lunch, dinner from taraak kitchen
- 80% of ingredients sourced from the estate or locally sourced
- Unlimited access to 50 acres (vineyard walks, orchard trails, river sanctuary)
- Guided estate experiences (viticultural immersion, heritage orchard, etc.)
- WiFi throughout the estate
- Daily cottage cleaning and linen service
- Estate bath products (Kama Ayurveda)
- Dogs welcome at no extra charge
What’s NOT included: Alcoholic beverages beyond what’s part of culinary experiences, spa treatments, helicopter transfers (though these can be arranged separately).
Are there any hidden charges or resort fees?
No. Everything is transparent.
There are no hidden fees, resort charges, or itemized bills. The price quoted is the total cost for your entire stay. What we list is what you pay.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept multiple payment methods for your convenience:
- Bank transfer (NEFT/RTGS)
- Credit/Debit cards
- Digital wallets (Google Pay, Apple Pay)
- Wire transfer (for international guests)
Payment terms: 50% deposit upon booking confirmation, balance due 14 days before arrival. Contact us for customized payment arrangements for large bookings.
Do you offer discounts for longer stays?
Recommended booking windows:
Special pricing is available for extended stays of 7 nights or longer. Contact us to discuss custom rates for your preferred dates.
Accommodation & Amenities
How many cottages are there and what are the differences?
There are five private cottages, each with distinct character:
- Leela Nilay – The Heart. Central location, closest to taraak restaurant. Best for families and groups.
- Leela Kunja 01 & 02 – The View. Upper terraces with dramatic valley and mountain views. Coming June 2026.
- Leela Drakh 01 & 02 – The Vineyard. Embedded in vineyard rows. Coming June 2026.

What are the room specifications?
Each cottage includes:
- 2 bedrooms with king beds
- En-suite bathrooms in both bedrooms
- Maximum 4 guests per cottage (2 per bedroom)
- Living room with fireplace
- Fully equipped kitchen (taraak delivers meals)
- Private patio or terrace
Climate control: Fans and air conditioning available. The elevation (1,200m) provides natural cooling most of the year.
Is there WiFi and cellular reception?
Yes, superb WiFi throughout the estate. Stay connected if you wish, or use it minimally—the choice is yours.
Cellular reception: Airtel and Jio coverage is available at the estate. Reception quality varies depending on location within the property. Vodafone does not work here.
What's the hot water situation?
All cottages have 24-hour hot water via copper heating systems. We also have backup solar water heating to minimize energy use.
What about check-in and check-out times?
Standard times:
- Check-in: 2:00 PM
- Check-out: 12:00 PM
Special arrangements: Early arrival (from 11:00 AM) and late departure (until 2:00 PM) may be available subject to availability. Late checkout incurs a fee of ₹8,000.

Dining at taraak
What are the tasting menus like?
We offer three distinct culinary journeys, each reflecting different facets of our estate philosophy:
- Four-Course Estate Table: Focused introduction to our philosophy. Ideal for shorter stays.
- Seven-Course Estate Menu: Our signature tasting. Comprehensive journey through vineyard, orchard, and kitchen garden.
- North Indian Tasting Menu: Contemporary Indian techniques applied to estate ingredients. Smoke, dairy, spice, and slow fire cooking.
Menus change with the seasons and what the land offers. Details provided at check-in.
Can I request dietary modifications?
Yes, absolutely. Our kitchen accommodates:
- Vegetarian and vegan diets (most meals are naturally plant-forward)
- Gluten-free requirements
- Allergies and food intolerances
- Religious dietary requirements
- Medical dietary needs
Important: Please notify us at least 48 hours in advance so our team can prepare thoughtfully.
Is taraak open to non-guests?
There are five private cottages, each with distinct character:
taraak operates by reservation only, limited to estate guests and select visitors. Non-guests may occasionally dine with us by advance arrangement and with direct invitation.

Do you accommodate children's meals?
Yes, children are welcome and meals are thoughtfully adapted.
We offer:
- Age-appropriate portions and ingredients
- Familiar flavors with a contemporary twist
- Alternative options if a child is hesitant about certain dishes
- Involvement in culinary experiences (cooking workshops, orchard participation)
Infants under 2 years: No meal charges. Please inform us of specific needs during booking.
Pets & Companions
Are dogs really welcome?
Yes, absolutely. Dogs are genuinely welcomed—not tolerated.
Your dog:
- Stays with you at no extra charge
- Has access to 50 acres to explore
- Can interact with our resident estate dogs
- Is treated as a guest, not an afterthought
Requirements: Please notify us in advance and provide information about your dog’s temperament and any special needs.
What about other pets (cats, birds, etc.)?
Other pets are accommodated on a case-by-case basis. Contact us before booking to discuss your specific pet’s needs.

What if I have a dog allergy or am uncomfortable with dogs?
Please inform us during booking if you have allergies or concerns about dogs. We have resident estate dogs that roam the property freely, so complete avoidance isn’t possible. However, we’ll work with you to minimize contact if needed.

What experiences are available?
Available experiences include:
- Viticultural Immersion: Walk vineyard blocks with our viticulturist, learn about our four varietals (Tempranillo, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay)
- Heritage Orchard: Explore generations-old stone fruit cultivars, seasonal harvest participation
- Giri River Sanctuary: 50-acre mountain trails through sal forest and river access
- Culinary Experiences: Foraging walks with chef, cooking workshops, kitchen table dinners
- Guided Stillness: Meditation, reading, contemplative time (unguided by default)
Philosophy: You decide what appeals to you. No forced itineraries—experiences offer themselves, discovered rather than presented.
Is there a set daily schedule I need to follow?
No. Your time is yours.
We are not a structured retreat. Meal times and experiences are offered, but you choose what resonates with you. Sleep until 9 AM if you want. Skip the vineyard walk and read on your patio. Take three walks in one day. The choice is always yours.
Can I participate in harvest activities?
Yes, during harvest season. Grape harvest occurs in late June to early July.
During this period, guests can participate in:
- Grape picking and sorting
- Fermentation processes
- Cellar activities and tastings
- Conversations with our viticulturist
This is physical work, but it’s optional and deeply rewarding. Advance booking essential—3-6 months recommended for harvest season.
Logistics & Travel
How do I get to Raht Juneo?
By car (recommended):
- From Delhi: 6 hours (approximately 350 km via Chandigarh)
- From Chandigarh: 3.5 hours (approximately 120 km)
By air: Fly to Chandigarh (closest major airport), then drive 3.5 hours to the estate.
Private transfers: We can arrange vehicle pickup from Chandigarh or Delhi. Contact us for details and pricing.
Can you arrange transportation?
What's the road condition to the estate?
The road is well-maintained and suitable for regular vehicles (sedans, SUVs). The final approach is scenic mountain road that’s part of the arrival experience.
Driving conditions: The drive itself is considered part of the transition to the estate. Six hours of deliberate deceleration.
What's the best time of year to visit?
All seasons offer unique appeal:
- Spring (Mar-May): Blossoms, greenery, moderate temperatures. Ideal for all visitors.
- Summer (Jun-Aug): Cooler than plains, lush vegetation, grape growth. Peak season.
- Autumn (Sep-Oct): Harvest season (late Jun-early Jul), golden light, clear days. Limited availability.
- Winter (Dec-Feb): Cozy fireplace evenings, clear skies, crisp mornings. Fewer crowds.
Book earliest for harvest season (late Jun-early Jul)—3-6 months in advance.
What if I need to work or take calls during my stay?
You have full connectivity. Superb WiFi throughout the estate, cellular coverage (Airtel/Jio), and quiet spaces for focused work.
Many guests use their stay as a work-and-rest retreat. Your cottage and patio are excellent spaces for calls and meetings. The choice to be connected or disconnected is yours.
Miscellaneous
Is there a dress code?
No dress code. Wear what makes you comfortable. For evening meals, we suggest “comfortable but intentional” attire, but this is entirely your choice.
Can I take photographs?
Yes. You’re welcome to photograph the estate for personal use. Professional photography sessions can be arranged with advance notice.
Do you accept gratuities?
Gratuities are neither expected nor accepted. Your comprehensive rate covers all services. If you wish to acknowledge exceptional service, we suggest a written note of appreciation—that’s all we ask.
What if I have a medical emergency?
Medical facilities are 30-45 minutes away. We have:
- First aid kit and trained staff
- 24/7 access to local medical contacts
- Ability to arrange emergency transport
- Communication with nearby hospitals
If you have specific medical concerns, inform us during booking so we can prepare appropriately.
What is the estate's altitude and weather like?
Elevation: 1,300 meters above sea level
Climate impact:
- Summer temps 10-12°C cooler than Delhi plains
- Natural cooling from elevation
- AC rarely needed except peak summer
- Winter months can be cold—fireplaces provide ambiance and warmth
Pack layers and comfortable walking shoes. Weather varies significantly by season.
