1. Taraak at Raht Juneo Orchards: the best restaurant in Rajgarh for a special meal
Among the restaurants in Rajgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Taraak is the farm-to-table choice: it sits at Raht Juneo Orchards, near Matnali village outside Rajgarh, at 1,300 metres. Around 80% of what the kitchen cooks is grown on the estate: fruit from the orchard, grapes from the vineyard, and herbs and vegetables from the kitchen garden. Most of the cooking happens over wood fire.
You don’t need to stay at the estate to eat here. Taraak is open to everyone for lunch and dinner, by reservation.

The tasting menus
Taraak serves two seasonal tasting menus:
- Four-Course Estate Table, ₹4,500 + GST per person: four courses shaped by what the orchard, kitchen garden and fire are giving that week.
- Seven-Course Estate Table, ₹7,000 + GST per person: a longer walk through the vineyard, orchard and kitchen garden, with fire, fermentation and estate produce.
There is no service charge; tips are optional. The menus change with the seasons, so what you eat in October won’t be what you eat in April. See the current menus on the Taraak page.
All-day dining
If a tasting menu is more than you want, the all-day menu has wood-fired pizzas, handmade pasta, Indian comfort plates and orchard teas, at ₹550–1,200 per plate.
Private dining and celebrations
Taraak hosts private groups of up to 50 for birthdays, anniversaries, family gatherings and corporate lunches. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free menus are available with notice; extensive changes need 48 hours.
